Cylindrical reaction vessel constructed with a flange having a groove formed in the sealing surface of the flange. Flange is also ground to permit a greased seal with any of the lids CG-1940 through CG-1946. For clamp see CG-141 or CG-141-T. For o-ring see CG-147.

The unique design of the Chem-Drain valve incorporates a PTFE plunger that allows the contents of the flask to drain directly through the bore of the plunger. When closed, the tip of the PTFE plug seals into the lower radius of the flask avoiding the dead space normally associated with standard stopcock drains. This feature permits total mixing and drainage of the contents of the flask. The Chem-Drain valve is available in 2 sizes: 6mm and 12mm. This dimension refers to the main bore of the plunger. When open, the contents of the flask drain through three openings into the main bore of the plug. Lower portion of the plunger has a 1/2" section on the 6mm size and 18mm section on the 12mm size for attachment of flexible tubing to allow material to be transferred into a receiving vessel. The 6mm size will permit drainage of solids having a diameter of 1.5mm, while the 12mm size will allow drainage of solids to 2mm diameter.
